Herbarium of the Urpflanze“Nature is a continuous act of creating and undoing forms, a theatre of constant becoming, governed nonetheless by a rigorous order” J.W. Goethe
I explore the multiplicity and transformation inherent in nature. Every living being is not a single, fixed entity but a constellation of variations, a fluid identity that reveals itself through endless forms. The Herbarium of the Urpflanze imagines a collection of plants that do not exist in reality. Fragments of different species are gathered, dried, and recomposed to give life to new botanical forms — organisms that are fictional, yet resonate with a deeper truth. Drawing inspiration from Goethe’s concept of the Urpflanze, the original plant, this work seeks to trace the underlying identity that persists across infinite natural variations. |
